June 30th, 2010Best LooksMaybe I don’t really wanna know how your garden grows ’cause I just wanna fly…
Today we sat in the garden, just had a cup of coffee and some biscuits, but shortly after we’d sat down, the clouds grew so big that we had to rush back home to pull the washing off the line immediately. And also, I painted my desk white today (outside) so we’d have needed to carry that one back in, too. But as it is, the black clouds just passed us by and merely dropped one or two raindrops… hmm, very funny, the weather keeps making fun of me!Another thing I did today was trying on all of my three selfmade Lord of the Rings-inspired Elven dresses again… I once made them for several Ring*Cons and felt like coming back home only by trying on the dresses again. I miss them old geeky days a bit I must confess, haha! One day I should photograph the dresses for you guys, too!
Now I’m leaving you again in order to study for pedagogics a bit more… can’t wait for the end of uni-times!

(Forever21 headband, vintage dress, Forever21 necklaces and headband, Dolce & Gabbana wedges)
Shopping/eating/wilting in the heat in Soho…I saw this leather dress in the window of a store in Venice Beach while making my way to Gjelina a couple weeks ago….was sold on the mannequin enough to order it on the phone the next day. Prada made something like this (as in exactly) a few years ago and I never did get that dress out of my head. Blame it on Carine for making it look good enough to not be able to forget. I love sparse black in the summer.

June 27th, 2010Best LooksI haven't been thrifting in a while…I used to go all the time but it can be so hit or miss. Ysterday I went with my aunt and my mom. We went to three…Haltom City Thriftstore, a Goodwill next door to that, and Thrift Town. Got some good stuff!

Judging from the label this blouse is from the 70s…its so tiny! It has a little staining…but too sweet to pass up. The pleated dance skirt is also really old…its nice and heavy and swingy.

I wasn't going to buy this sweater but when I showed my mom she convinced me I should.

Really enjoy the circular bead patterns on you, sweater dress, but you are large and ill-fitting. Had to pose kinda weird to make this not look like a sack on me.

The barfy pastel colors of this skirt won my heart. For $2.99 I couldn't not take it home.

Today my mom made this muffler out of some old faux fur in our garage. Cool scarf mom!!

Sweet puffy sleeved granny sweater with little roses and pretty buttons. Aww…its label looked like it was in German…

Have a great weekend!
